Directions
The TexomaRC (Pete Darter) field is located near the community of Southmayd TX. We are located south of the US-82 between Whitesboro and Sherman.
The navigation address is - 734 Logston Rd, Sherman Texas 75092
Take Hazelwood Rd south and follow it around until you come to the intersection of Logston Rd and Miniature (Old Sherman Rd). At that point you will see the gate to the field.
If the gate is open, feel free to come on in and check things out and ask any questions. However, please do not approach the pilot while they are flying. Please wait till they are back in the Pit Area.

Flying Field Safety Rules
For there to be a safe place to fly, the club has had to impose a number of rules to remind ourselves that unless we are proactive in our use of common sense and safety measures, injuries might happen. Click on the link to review those rules.Â
FAA Requisites
Yes, Radio Control Aircraft over 1/2lb are now considered Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV's) or Drones by any other name and with that new classification there are new rules to be aware of.Â
AMA Requisites
Our parent organization The Academy of Model Aeronautics was founded in 1936. This organization helps us to sanction fields, lobby with federal agencies for flying lattitude and provides secondary liability insurance for injury or theft.Â
Know Before You Fly
On March 16, 2024 the FAA imposed requirements that all UAV's (anything radio controlled over 1/2 lb) require an FAA Recreational License plus a 400 ft elevation restriction and Remote ID as well as a flight plan unless you're flying at a club field. The link below takes you to that website so that you can familiarize yourself with those new requirements.Â
