Welcome to the Texoma Radio Control Modelers (TexomaRC) CoPilot/Coaching program.
As we came into the hobby, we were novices at flying RC and needed the help of skilled RC Pilots using a buddy-box to maintain sustainable flight. But as we’ve grown in the years, we have mastered the skills at flying but from time to time we lose focus on our aircraft. Often, we don’t have anyone to pass the transmitter off to or we’ve reached a point where we’re just not sure we can fly RC anymore.
Know how to fly, little rusty, want new thrills, try our coaching/co-pilot program.
Whether you’re just getting back into RC or looking to refine your skills, our Instructor Pilot Mentors (IPM’s) help you succeed. By bringing years of national championships along with years of RC flying, our instructors bring years of experience to the field to provide guidance, ensuring flyers of all ages and skill levels can reach their full potential. This is accomplished using two transmitters wirelessly connected; a Coach shows you, hands off control, you execute it; the coach then takes over when the risk exceeds the focus. Using Tech to its Finest.
Beginner Classes: Learn the fundamentals of model aviation from control surfaces to all the hardware and avionics being used from a really simple hands on approach.
Intermediate Training: Once you’ve learned to take off and land, you’re ready to move to banked turns, large loops, and touch and go’s.
Advanced Training: This is where you really get to have fun. The sky is wide open and the only limits are those of saefty and practical limits. You’ll be flying all sorts of maneuvers, and each maneuver will have a combination of elements, and this is where the wild wild west of flying literally takes off.
Junior Programs: Fun and engaging sessions designed for young players to develop a love for model aviation.
Co-Pilot/Coaching Program: You’ve already mastered the art of radio control flying; but, life experiences have caught up with you and, you not only desire a spotter to help out; but also a co-pilot/coach that can take over when you have those “oh crap” moments. No one to teach you, just someone to help get the plane back on track. Whether you’re sport flying at the field or engaged in aerobatic competition, we have co-pilots to help you out.
Well, hold on and don’t give up!
Texoma Radio Control Modelers recognizes this predicament when a member reached the epiphany that; “when we were young we relied on skilled pilots to train us; but, as we’ve grown older and our eyesight and reaction time starts to fail we rely on those we’ve trained to carry us into our twilight flight.
For whatever the reason, we need that second set of eyes and faster reaction from a skilled and dedicated copilot; and, NOT TO TEACH US!, just a CoPilot to get us back on the right flight path.
And that is just what this program is, A CoPilot Program where you are the Chief Pilot and the CoPilot is there to spot for you and assist you when its needed.
No stigma, just two experienced RC flyers standing or sitting together, shooting the bull, and helping each other out when needed. And today, we don’t need to use the umbilical “embarrassing” DSC cables; instead, we connect both radios wirelessly.
No matter what you're flying; whether its an electric trainer to a 40% gas IMAC Competition Aircraft; our CoPilot/Coaching program is here to help you to continue enjoying this hobby.
