Background - Why The Event On This Particular Weekend - After some research and review, this freestyle event appears to be one if not the only major 3D-Freestyle RC event of its kind coming to North Texas. The goal is to have fun! Display high torque maneuvers observed in RC aircraft; while, adding a western flair reflecting the folklore of “Wild Bill Pecos” riding a Tornado. An image that illustrates rifle-rolls, tail slides, stalls, and recoveries observed in high energy maneuvers by “on-the-edge” RC pilots. And, falls a week after the 68+ year running Whitesboro Rodeo.
The TexomaRC Club has been around since 1970 and established for 50+ years. We invite participants from the DFW Metroplex and the many AMA RC Clubs within this area & Texas; as well as, OK, AR, LA, and more. The location is central to the SC-IMAC Region; and, continuously receptive to giant-scale RC Aircraft; where, your products are used. Given this, our request is simple:
We appeal to your model aviation product support to help make this event “go big”! With either an on-site presence to promote your merchandise or implied via donated or discounted merchandise coupons; that, we can help you via distribution to RC pilots.
As mentioned earlier, another element we are striving for is to partnership with public attendance to promote the continued interest and growth in The Science of Model Aviation. With that, the weekend after the 4th of July specifically; where, on that July 4th weekend is home to the long running (68+ years) Texoma Whitesboro Rodeo. Why the Rodeo Motif?
The elements of energy combined with risk between bull-riding; barrel racing; steer wrestling and such, are almost synonymous with the high energy torque rolls observed in a freestyle 3D plane. Combine this with patterns displayed by Ranch Trail Riding, and these endeavors offer an entertaining element of skill, visual risk, an aspect that appeals to observers both in the arial arena as well as a rodeo arena. Where spectators of both appreciate those risks taken either on the ground or on the sticks of a transmitter as the competitors/pilots strive for as much chaotic energy while escaping high risk ground contact.
Given this, we invite you to attend as TexomaRC Modelers Guests at no charge. Your attendance either implied or in person in support of this event is most appreciated in advance. We hope you can make it.
You are encouraged to (Bring Your Own Tent – BYOT) as our covered pit area isn't as robust as one might think - we are in Tornado country after all.
